Coming of age in the 80s, the hot trends of today appeal to my sentimentality as much as my fashion sense. Considering these two factors, I was simply craving an in-your-face, gleaming white watch.
Casio’s Baby-G watch collection contains a few styles that fill this void, without depleting your cash! I recently had the opportunity to sample the Casio Baby-G BLX100-7 design. The style of this timepiece makes quite a fashion statement! Bold and white, this large-faced 42mm watch is also digital. How totally 80s can you get?
Baby-G Watch, Women’s BLX Series White Resin Strap BLX100-7
The Baby-G comes housed in a hexagon shaped tin. Enclosed inside is the watch, and a teeny-tiny mini manual that also happens to be quite thick. Why? This little watch has tons of cool features! The features that this busy Mom loves include the fact that it’s built super-tough (I recently cracked the glass face of a brand new watch), and water resistant up to 200M. The back-light feature will certainly come in handy when dreary Seattle weather kicks back in this Fall, and while I haven’t used the Countdown Timer yet, I could imagine how this might also be a nice feature for someone with children (“two more minutes until we leave the park, boys”)!
Other features include a tide graph (this is an excellent watch for those with addictions to ocean sports), a world time clock that can display the local time in 29 times zones (and 48 cities), two alarm settings and a stopwatch. I’ll stop talking “functionality” for a minute, and just switch back to “fun”. This Baby-G style is totally trendy, resilient, and reasonably priced.
Suggested retail price is $89. Click HERE to check out the entire Baby-G lineup.
