This year NARS has teamed up with photographer Sarah Moon to develop the NARS Holiday 2016 color collection. The star of the show in this collection is the color rouge, so naturally I’m a fan. Rimmel London Keep Calm Balms

Whenever I see these “Keep Calm” lip balms from Rimmel London, I think about teachers. Wouldn’t they make such a wonderful “back to school” gift, especially for a teacher of young children? Then again, if you were to hand these out on day one, I’m guessing they might assume your little angel is about to give them hell. In all seriousness though, these adorable, affordable little balms came to mind as such an ideal gift for teacher. Like it or not, the holidays are rapidly approaching, so I’ve been brainstorming some fun “giftable” treats for teachers.

Rimmel London Keep Calm Balms

Swatched above are Rimmel London Keep Calm and Play (a sheer apple red) and Keep Calm and Party (a sheer berry/plum). No matter how intense the colors appear in the tube, these lipstick-like balms apply very sheer. They add a touch of color to the lips, and a whole LOT of moisture!

1 Grace Atelier De Lux Bohbo Hobo Bag $1,195– I’ll admit this gorgeous bag is a bit of an obsession for me right now. The shoulder strap features a gorgeous braided design that carries through to the top closure strap and ends in tassels. The sides have minimal fringe, and inside is one large zip pocket and one tiny card holder for your favorite credit card. Featured here in black leather, the bag is also available in two different neutral shades.

2 Marc Jacobs Gotham Hobo $495– I love this shade of Bordeaux for fall! This bag features a lean profile, so if you prefer a hobo that’s less bulky it’s a great choice. It’s adorned with a double J hanging luggage tag, and has a removable shoulder strap.

3 Rebecca Minkoff Isobel Hobo $295– This chunky little hobo fits snugly beneath the arm, and can also double as a satchel! The minimalist design features two long braided tassels that drape over the top. Interior contains one zip pocket, and three open pockets for organization.

4 Furla Luna Hobo Bag $648– This pale neutral hobo works with anything, and is such a classic! The bag has two straps fastened by a golden button on each side, so it’s very versatile! If you’re using the shorter strap, the long strap hangs fashionably below the bag.

5 Tory Burch Perry Hobo Bag $395– This slouchy hobo is pebbled leather and boasts a roomy interior! Inside are two pockets, and an unexpected gold metallic interior!

6 Marc Jacobs Maverick Hobo $550– This gorgeous blue hobo bag features a large, flat outer pocket and a magnetic top closure. Also available in a tan leather.

7 Kate Spade New York Mason Hobo Bag $458– This streamlined hobo has a long double-tassel embellishment on the front. An inside magnetic closure keeps your possessions safe. 8 Rebecca Minkoff Darren Hobo Bag $295– The gorgeous olive-neutral color of this bag was what caught my eye, and what kept me hooked was the price tag! This beautiful hobo bag features a gold-toned turnlock closure and some very simple fringe details.

NARS Dolce Vita, Outlaw, and Luster Blushes

Looking for some great blush colors for fall? I was gazing lovingly at my NARS Pro Palette and these three shades lept out at me as perfect for the autumn season!

Show above from left to right:

Dolce Vita– described by the brand as a matte dusty rose, to me it’s more of a bold berry pink

Outlaw– very similar to Dolce Vita, this blush features a frosty golden finish

Luster– described by the brand as a sheer golden apricot, in my eyes this shade is a versatile bronze that can be used as either a bronzer or cheek color

MAC Highlight The Truth Mineralize Skinfinish

MAC Taraji Glow Mineralize Skinfinish — MAC Highlight The Truth Mineralize Skinfinish

The name so nice, they sent it twice! The MAC Taraji P. Henson collection contains TWO different Mineralize Skinfinish shades. Each is intended to harness the glowing complexion of Taraji P. Henson. You know I’m a long-time fan of MAC Mineralize Skinfinish, and it’s actually one of my all-time favorite MAC products. As a result, I’m always happy to try a new shade of this favorite formula, especially one as universally flattering and seasonless as Highlight The Truth.

MAC Taraji Glow Mineralize Skinfinish Swatches

Now, BOTH of these compacts were sent to me by MAC and each features a different name. But I’m thinking these are both MAC Highlight The Truth. MAC Taraji Glow is a much darker shade on their site, and looks to be a deep terracotta brown shade. The brand describes Highlight The Truth as a soft bronze coral with golden shimmer. To me it looks like a luminous apricot. It’s an ideal “straddle” shade as we close the summer season and head into fall, and truly looks amazing on any complexion.

Retail price is $33 per compact.
