Raging Rouge Beauty Blog: For Makeup Lovers Everywhere!
This is perhaps dangerous information for me to reveal where it can be misused– specific packaging design and ingredients can cause me to spontaneously buy product as if in a trance.
I walked into Victoria’s Secret the other day with no intention of buying any beauty product. In a store filled with wildly colored fruity scented bath and body product, I was immediately attracted to a tiny display of the comparatively bland in appearance spa collection. For some reason, sleek and unassuming packaging always catches my eye more than the loud and obvious style of product like "Beauty Rush" pictured at left.
Then I read the label of the Body Scrub. Sugar and Coffee Bean? Coffee is my kryptonite. I’m obsessed with coffee in every way, and love to buy beauty product containing coffee. I grabbed the jar and headed to the register.
At home, I was surprised this scrub smelled nothing like sugar or coffee. It smelled of perfume, a somewhat negative surprise, but the scent was fresh and clean. Victoria’s Secret Spa Intensive Body Scrub is powerful stuff. Unlike gentle scrubs used on the face, this product means business. It made my rough elbows and knees softer after only one use.
I purchased this product at full price ($18), but their entire Spa line is currently on sale for 50% off (ironically, they are likely changing the packaging)! Sadly, their online store appears to be out of this product at the time of publication! Be sure to check this one out in-store for $9, or snag another item from their Spa line!
Picture it… summertime in the 1980s at the New Jersey shore (or "down the shore" as my fellow New Jerseyans would say). In the late afternoon, women would migrate en masse from the beach to the boardwalk, and the public restroom was a flurry of women spraying clouds of aerosol hairspray, spackling foundation, and lining eyes for the tenth time. Back then, excess was beauty and beauty was excess, especially in New Jersey. If you didn’t wear at least 4 different shades of shadow, you felt "unfinished".
Luckily, today we can be a bit more easy-going while beachside. This Light Tint Moisturizer by Juice Organics is my case in point. It has an SPF 30, so you can wear it while on the beach to protect your skin while lightly concealing blemishes and evening out your skin tone. When leaving the beach, you can reapply for a more "finished" look. Best part? Unlike applying heavier foundation, no mirror is necessary to blend this product well. Avoid the post-beach bathroom rush and use this product!

You’re all probably bored to death of my obsession with multi-tasking product, but I’m always thrilled when I find a product that can help to lighten my load. Especially since my bag now carries diapers, wipes, and juice bottles in addition to my own belongings.
Benefit Rush Hour is a cream-based color for both lips and cheeks. Rush Hour’s mauve color is good for any skin tone, and its oil-free formula is good for any complexion.
The best part is, unlike other cheek/lip color sticks that I’ve sampled, Rush Hour is a thin and long shape– not stout and thick. This makes it much easier for lip application, not to mention clutch-worthy and very portable!
