I’m obsessed with lipstick and gloss for certain, but anyone who knows me really well knows that the #1 love in my beauty stash is eye pencil.  I have about 80 in my rotation, because even subtle variations in color and texture are appreciated by this beauty aficionado! For highlighting the inner corners or applying along the waterline to make eyes look bigger and really call attention to your base color, Bubbly is a champagne peach, and Blank is a pure white.

When you’re looking for a jolt of color, the shades above are perfect!  Nymph is a bold purple, Private an inky almost-black, Bouncer is an electric blue, and Baller is a forest green.

I’ve been heavily using these four neutral shades from the lineup, and honestly couldn’t recommend only one, they are all amazing!  Fishnet is a deep tar black, Shark a deep charcoal gray, Moody a perfect taupe, and Brewed a classic deep coffee brown.

People have been talking about it for years, but finally and wholeheartedly, the 90s are back.  The floral prints, the denim accessories, the earth-toned lips… it’s only appropriate that at least one Rimmel London MagnifEyes Eyeshadow Contouring Palette be dedicated to the grunge trend of the early 90s.

Ah how I loved a flowery maxi-dress paired with my combat boots!  The sunglasses were teeny tiny (that’s basically the only 90s trend we aren’t seeing at the moment) and we prided ourselves on buying vintage Levis from a thrift store for 25 cents.  Let’s not forget the makeup!  Smoky, dusky neutrals have that edgy tough vibe that anyone dressing grunge would admire.  A grunge gal always had a either a stand-out eye, or a red lip with minimal eye makeup.  For the eyes, colors like black and gray were a must.  This Rimmel London shadow palette is rounded out with soft neutrals, and even a few metallic shades to add a modern touch.

It’s almost April, and while it’s my favorite time of year it’s also time for a bit of makeup strategy.  Warmer weather means the dreaded “makeup slide” will once again become a daily reality.  You know what I’m talking about.  You get a bit too warm, start to perspire a bit… the next thing you know your makeup is everywhere but where it was intended.  This is precisely what shadow primers like Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer are all about.  Not only does this lid primer hide imperfections, the formula keeps shadow perfectly in place.

Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer is available in five shades to ensure a solid match for every complexion.  Each tube is equipped with a flat, angular sponge applicator.  Once applied to the lids, simply blend and allow the product to set.  Then apply shadow, and you’re set!  Pro-tip: in a pinch this product can also be used as a concealer!  My personal challenges are some red capillaries, and this product hides them masterfully!
