MAC Athma Eye Shadow

Had it not been for Facebook, I would have been completely unaware that two friends of mine were vacationing in India at the exact same time. They don’t know each other, but were staying in the same area and likely were within walking distance from each other for at least part of their visit. Each time I viewed images of their adventures, or read snippets of their plans, my mind would wander to thoughts of the MAC + Mickey Contractor collection, which had launched at roughly the same time. Even more specifically, I thought of MAC Athma Eye Shadow x 4.

In this MAC eye shadow quad, a matte black (carbon) parties with a deep reddish brown (folie) and and two lustre eyeshadows (jaan and vivah) laced with gold pearl that makes them gleam so brightly, they almost appear wet. It’s one seriously sexy color combination, and a must for anyone in a party mood!

MAC Paint Pots: Vintage Selection and Let Me Pop

I am always in search of shimmery shades of naked like these two MAC Paint Pots: Vintage Selection and Let Me Pop. Included in the champagne inspired Cham Pale limited-edition collection, MAC’s Vintage Selection is a frosty pink-taupe (the website claims it is a peach shade, but to me the shade appears more pink). MAC’s Let Me Pop is a bolder frosty bronze shade (described on the website as copper).

Intended for use on the eyes, Paint Pots are a great choice when you want to travel light. To keep a look simple, you can simply tote one along with you, and use a fingertip to apply! Naturally, you can also layer them for more dramatic looks, and they blend together like a dream! The color delivered is long-lasting and intense. So quintessential MAC!

Both of these shades are universally flattering.

Untamed Violet: Estee Lauder Ends The Search!

Those of you in search of a true violet eye pencil will love Estee Lauder’s Untamed Violet Double Wear Stay In Place Eye Pencil (swatch at left). The color delivered by this limited-edition eyeliner is a saturated rich blue-purple, and the pencil is equipped with a great smudge tip.

I love the Double Wear Stay In Place Eye Pencil formula. Smudge fast, because the product will dry quickly for a long-wearing budge-proof finish. I also really love the smoky appearance…

Electric Coral and Electric Violet Pure Color Gloss

Ever since Estee Lauder launched the reformulated Pure Color Gloss, I’ve always looked forward to receiving samples of new shades. I simply LOVE both the formula and the packaging of Pure Color Gloss! The sponge-tip applicator is pillowy soft. The gloss has the signature Estee Lauder fig scent. Application is smooth, and lips never feel sticky. Dare I say, the formula even helps minimize the appearance of fine lines in the lips?

From Estee Lauder’s Wild Violet collection come these two beautiful Spring 2011 shades. On the left is “Electric Coral” and on the right is “Electic Violet”. Both shades are bright pops of color inspired by Spring blooms, but the sheer wash of syrupy “I just enjoyed a lollipop” wash of color is subtle and beautiful. It’s a great way for timid makeup-lovers to incorporate a hint of color into your Spring makeup look!
