MAC New View: Mineralize Skinfinish

MAC New View, Mineralize Skinfinish, Pressed Powder, New View Collection, MAC Cosmetics An all-time favorite product of mine is MAC Mineralize Skinfinish. I first sampled this makeup when the N collection was introduced, and have used it frequently ever since.

For many (even the beauty obsessed), pressed powder is a hard thing to get excited about, but Mineralize Skinfinish by MAC managed to leave a matte finish that looks radiant… never chalky or dry. How to improve upon perfection?

As part of the recent New View launch, MAC has introduced a version of Mineralize Skinfinish with a strip of shimmer to add even more glow to your complexion. Swirl the shades together for all-over radiance, or use each powder individually for targeted highlighting. I’ve even used the shimmery powder as a base shade for shadow application.

Hard to improve upon perfection, but MAC has managed to with this baked formula!

Tarte’s Rest Assured Brightening Wand is one of those products that you never knew you needed… until you try it for the first time. On one end is a highly targeted concealer/highlighter to be used near the inner corner of the eye. Have you ever wondered how models look so wide-eyed and well rested? This little pencil is the trick behind that look!

Then use the sponge-tip applicator to apply highlighter on your cheekbones or browbones. You’ll instantly appear more awake… and have a beautiful glow!

A: Thank you! The hot lip colors for Fall are very, very deep shades but in sheer formulations. Think stains.

Raging Rouge Rewind: Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF 30

Originally published last year, this review of Peter Thomas Roth’s Instant Mineral SPF 30 powder deserves a second look! This product has earned a permanent place in my routine.

Every morning, I apply sunscreen to my face prior to makeup application.

But here’s the catch…. sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours for it to provide the protection your skin needs– even more frequently if you’re swimming or physically active. With summer in full swing, there are endless opportunities to get outside and enjoy the summer sun.

Have you ever successfully reapplied sunscreen over your foundation and powder? Of course not. No one has! It creates a hideous mess. Another option would be to wash your makeup off and reapply, but that is WAY too time consuming.

Peter Thomas Roth has introduced Instant Mineral SPF 30. This talc-free UVA/UVB protection is in the form of a completely translucent powder, and can be dusted over a made-up face for SPF 30 protection with a perfect matte finish. The tube is perfectly portable and application is easy. The mineral powder is contained in brush handle and dispenses through the brush.

The retractable brush makes it easy to replace the cap without bending and deforming the bristles. This innovative product is a must have for the summer, and has earned a permanent spot in my beauty routine.
