Oh MAC! My heart nearly stopped when I learned you were planning to launch a makeup collection paying tribute to Archie Comics! How I loved to read them when I was growing up! Oh, hell, who am I kidding? I still love to read about the Betty, Veronica, Archie love triangle!
Close Up: Caramel Sundae Eye Shadow x 4
When I first spied the Caramel Sundae Eye Shadow x 4 compact, I knew I wanted to try it out! But then, I paused. PINK again? Could I really get over my pink hatred? And what about that pale shade of gold? Are these shadows a bit too “loud” for my day-to-day?
Well, as it turns out, the answer is a resounding NO. In fact, Caramel Sundae has made it on my list of favorite shadow palettes for Spring 2013. (This is a short list of two palettes only, so take that statement seriously).
Shades included: Cheryl Chic (I love the nod to the Cheryl Flowers character with this pale frosty pink. I was wondering why MAC didn’t include her, too?), Dreammaker (a pale gold), Caramel Sundae (a medium warm milk-chocolatey shade) and Showstopper (a deep smoky brown).
How I wear the Caramel Sundae quad:
I’ve been using Cheryl Chic as a highlight shade, only at the brow bone. This tiny hint of pink is actually quite beautiful, and combines with the other shades to truly make you think of a sundae.
Dreammaker is applied to the lid, and them blended upward toward the browbone. This yellow shade is an eye-opener, and the yellow and pink elements of the quad lend a youthful look (which I could never complain about).
Caramel Sundae is then applied in the crease. It’s the perfect crease shade, not too light and not too dark, and makes my eyes look so much bigger!
Showstopper I use at the lashline only, and it really makes the eyes look bolder.
Of course, I can see a million different ways to wear this quad, but I wanted to give you my two cents!
Retail price is $44 for this slender quad of eyeshadows. Honestly, I can’t even believe it is still available!
