I was initially hesitant to sample the Dermalogica PowerBright TR system, scared I might break my winning streak! I’m so glad I decided to take the plunge, because in doing so I discovered a truly top notch skincare system.
Dermalogica PowerBright TR Review
Dermalogica PowerBright contains three products for an entire morning/night routine. Both times of day, you start out by applying C-12 Pure Bright Serum on your clean skin. In the morning, you apply Pure Light SPF50 atop the serum. In the evening, you’d follow up serum application with Pure Night. It’s an easy two-step program, done twice a day!
My original concern was with the Pure Light SPF50 product. I have extremely irritable, sensitive skin, and was worried the lavender oil contained in the formula might cause irritation. Luckily my skin had no issues with this, so I had the chance to experience what an SPF with the added benefit of brightening could do. Don’t judge me. You would think by now, given how I spend my free time, I would have figured out that my daily SPF should also be a treatment. Somehow I hadn’t, and until using Pure Light my daily SPF had no benefit other than sun protection. Rookie mistake! The Dermalogica product is not only an extremely effective SPF 50, but contains incredients to even the skin tone that are hard at work while you go about your day. I hosted friends for a BBQ recently, and used this SPF only and spent 5 hours outside. The sun protection it offers is excellent.
At night, applying the Pure Night product was quite a treat. Pure Night on my cranky skin felt so soothing! After two months of use, my skin was definitely improved. Firstly, the formulas had faded some dark spotting on the right side of my face. Secondly, my skin simply looked healthier and more youthful! Dermalogica can now consider me a fan.
The entire regimen is a sadly expensive $225.
C-12 Pure Bright Serum 1.7 oz $90
Pure Light SPF 50 1.7 oz $60
Pure Night 1.7 oz $75
Each full-sized bottle lasted for two months of use. The PowerBright TRx Treatment Kit is a great way to sample the entire regimen for only $38 with 0.33 oz of each product included. Are you doing the math along with me? You could buy 5 of the “trial sized” bottles for $190 and end up with almost the same amount of product.
