This girl loves waterproof makeup. I live in a warm climate, and can never tell when my day will include swimming, sliding, or–let’s face it–sweating. Waterproof makeup helps prevent the dreaded slide that goes hand in hand with all of these possibilities. I’ve been reviewing various high-end waterproof products so far this summer, and now it’s time to introduce you to a fabulous budget option. Essence Cosmetics offers some very effective waterproof makeup, at a fraction of the price.
Essence Waterproof Gel Liner
My favorite item from the Essence Waterproof makeup lineup is the Waterproof Gel Liner available in 6 colors and retailing for a mere $2.99. Don’t trust my opinion? This product was an Allure magazine best of beauty winner last year! Swatches above from left to right, Gunmetal, Blue Lagoon, Black Blaze, Cocoa Bean, and Urban Jungle. As you can see the color delivered is intense. The formula is controllable but easy to blend. I’m obsessed.
Essence Lash Mania Mascara
The Essence Lash Mania mascara applicator features a spiky cone-shaped applicator and is SO big and covers each lash with clump-free waterproof product. I’m still undecided on waterproof performance for this formula, and will update this post after further testing. As a mascara for daytime wear though? It’s a wonderful choice, and wallet-friendly.
Retail price is $2.99 per gel liner, and $4.99 per mascara. You can buy ALL of the products featured in these review for under $20. Crazy, right?
