Maybe you had a few too many chocolate candies for Valentine’s Day, or maybe you’re watching what you eat as part of a New Year’s Resolution. Regardless of the reason, it’s always tough to stay on a plan for a long time if there’s no room for a treat. I had heard about Halo Top from friends, and was itching to try it myself, so when the brand recently got in touch and offered me a sample I was so happy! I chose plain old classic Vanilla Bean when I shopped, as it had the lowest carbohydrate count per serving available at my local grocery store.
Nutrition information for 1/2 cup serving of Vanilla Bean: Calories, 60 (so yes… the entire pint is only 240 calories), Fat 1.5g, Carbohydrate 11g, Sugars 4g, and Protein 6g!
Overall I thought: YUM YUM! This product truly gives the satisfaction of a treat, without the depression of a sugar-binge! The overall consistency of the product was a bit lighter than standard ice cream. To me it was more like an ice milk dessert. The vanilla flavor was amazing and it truly was delicious!
Other flavors offered include: Chocolate, Lemon Cake (I want to try this one next), Strawberry, Mint Chip, Chocolate Mocha Chip, Birthday Cake, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter Cup, Cookies & Cream, Sea Salt Caramel, S’mores, Pistachio, Oatmeal Cookie, Chocolate Almond Crunch, Black Cherry, and Red Velvet!
Retail price varies, but at my local Fry’s the price was $5.50.
