I’ve been coloring my hair now for 20 years, pausing only when I was pregnant. No beauty routine was worth any amount of risk to my beautiful babies!
I consider myself well-versed in the world of hair color, and have been loyal to my current colorist for over 10 years. She has earned my business delivering a multitude of different looks to match my every whim, as well as correcting the hideous color mistakes of the less skilled. Still, for her to deposit color on my strands she basically heats my head to a temperature that could fry an egg. Seems strange, but necessary, right?
Aveda’s Full Spectrum Hair Color
Aveda’s Full Spectrum hair color process is so natural and good for the hair it is actually a heat-free application process. Amazing, right? The Aveda Full Spectrum Protective Permanent Creme Color can not only be applied sans damaging heat, but the ingredients are 96% natural!
Recently, Aveda added an array of pure pigments to the product lineup, in rainbow-bright hues ranging from blue to green. While you certainly could use these for colorful hair streaking, that’s not the sole intent. Color professionals can also use these to make shade more vivid, or to soften unwanted color. As a brunette, I’ve received many a dye-job that looked too red. The Aveda Full Spectrum solution would be to add a bit of green into my hair color formula, almost like a concealer for the hair!
One final tidbit of information, I’m going to go ahead and copy directly from the Press Release I’ve received about this hair color. Aveda simply seems to be almost too good to be true, and I wish more corporations were as concious about the way they do business.
Aveda Full Spectrum Hair Color is created at Aveda’s botanical laboratory on a 58-acre Certified Wildlife Habitat in Blaine, Minnesota. The products are packaged in cruelty-free cartons made from 100 percent recycled fiber, including 77 percent post-consumer recycled, Forest Stewardship Council certified fiber. The caps on the 2.8 ounce color tubes are made of 100 percent recycled material – including plastic sourced through the national cap collection program founded by Aveda. This program has kept over a half million pounds of caps out of landfills to date – and this amount continues to rise rapidly every day.Wildlife reserve, cruelty-free, made in the USA… Wow. This loyal customer may have to defect from her colorist soon!
