As a child, the pre-holiday season fanned the flames of my greed in nasty ways. While watching commercials about toys, I would attempt to shout out, "I want it!" before my sister had a chance to express interest. Somehow, in my twisted little mind, I felt I had staked a claim to that particular toy.
I’m older now, and my toys have changed. Internally, I’m secretly still screaming "I want it!" while perusing the holiday collections making their debut this October. Here are some products new for this holiday season. How could one not want them all?
I reviewed the Lola Cosmetics holiday collection back in September, LONG before it’s retail debut (click HERE to read it). Want my Lola Laptop in "Joy"? You’ll have to pry it from my cold, dead hand. This purse-sized palette is packed with warm metallic eye shades and two sexy lip shades perfect for the holiday season. The generous mirror size makes on-the-go touch-ups easy. Keep your eyes peeled for the "Joy" version of Lola’s laptop. Soon to be released for the holiday season!
Stila’s Gift of Glaze contains 6 lip glazes, each only slightly smaller than the regular retail size. At $28 for the entire set (hello–that’s less than $5 per gloss), this makes an economical gift for yourself or a friend. The Gift of Glaze set includes two new shades for the season (nutmeg spice and candy cane), and four popular shades (grapefruit, apricot, vanilla, and brown sugar). These glosses smell as delicious as their names! Don’t miss it at Sephora.
I adore Korres Natural showergels, and told you so in my review about the Vanilla Cinnamon version of this product. The "Holiday Spirits" showergel collection by Korres Natural includes three indulgent scents of the season: Brandy, Amaretto and Glogg Wine. Korres Natural Holiday Spirits Set retails for $29 at Sephora.
$10 buys 5 holiday greeting cards with a generous sample of Cargo’s Machu Picchu gloss shade included inside. What a beautiful way to let your girlfriends know you’re thinking of them this holiday season. Wait–it gets better–100% of the proceeds from the sale of GlossyGreetings™ Cards are being donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Head over to Sephora to buy these chic holiday greeting cards.
You’ll be thrilled to hear that if you’ve been naughty, your gift this year will be Kohl rather than coal. The Too Faced Good Girl/Bad Girl Palette retails for $29.50 at Beauty.com. This creative palette features neutral "good-girl" shades on the left, and exotic "bad-girl" shades on the right. Each side has three shades of shadow and three shades of gloss. This palette comes complete with a eyeshadow/lip brush that tucks neatly in a drawer beneath.
What better gift to give the tress-obsessed woman in your life than the Alterna Holiday Gift Box that contains $105 worth of product, but retails for only $68 at Beauty.com. Products include: Life Solutions Sulfate Free Body Wash, Caviar Anti-Aging Hair Masque with Seasilk, Ten Shampoo, Caviar Working Hair Spray, HEMP Texturizing Glaze, HEMP Spray Shine and Caviar Anti-Aging Volume Molding Creme.
Pantina’s recently released Winter 2007 collection "Classically Chic" includes adorable trio eye palettes. The colors in Chichi Merlot are veil (taupe), spicy currant (rust) and black berry (a deep brownish red). Rather than include the obligatory mirror, the inside cover of each palette includes step-by-step instruction for application. Check out Pantina’s website or your local drugstore, where you can buy this product for $5. |
