MAC and Marcel Wanders have teamed up once again to introduce a color cosmetics collection in otherworldly packaging. I’ll be honest, I didn’t think I’d even get my hands on any of the products from this collaboration. Last time around, the collection sold out at lightning speed. This year, I managed to get my mitts on two lip glosses and one lipstick from this collection.

A bit of a tangent: When I was growing up, I would torture my mother when she put on my shoes. She had to line the height of my knee-high socks perfectly on each leg every morning. If one sock was even slightly higher or lower than the other, I could FEEL the difference in their height and found it uncomfortable and annoying. I’m giving you the background so you can understand that I have an almost extreme attention to detail and I notice subtleties.
When I applied the Mac & Marcel Wanders Lip Gloss formula, I immediately noticed this wasn’t just a Lipglass in a different tube. The formula was emollient and buttery. It almost seemed like a more opaque version of a Tendertone Lip Balm to me (and you know I’m a huge fan of Tendertone). Despite feeling almost balm-like, the color was impressively vivid.
The Marcel Wanders packaging is positively gorgeous. I with especially impressed with the lipstick, that almost looks like a vase to me. I have my fingers crossed that MAC & Marcel Wanders continue this annual collaboration tradition. It’s a must-try for beauty addicts everywhere.
