The recently released limited-edition MAC Charlotte Olympia collection features unique white packaging adorned with lip prints, manicures, cobwebs, and long-lashed eyes. The unusual packaging kicks off the overall experience of this collection in the perfect way. Inside, product is housed in equally unique packaging. The lipstick is housed in a lucite tube with a spiderweb image, the Lipmix lip pigments feature a tube design, and OH MY the nail polish! Each polish is a lean, sleek pyramid design topped with a gleaming golden cap. They are absolutely amazing!
The lipstick featured in photos above is named “Leading Lady Red” and is a matte true red. Matte is a very popular choice for 2016, and this MAC formula is a perfect long-wearing matte in a shade a star would wear to the Oscars. This true red suits most skin tones, so if you’ve had a tough time finding that perfect red you should give “Leading Lady” a shot! Other shades in the collection are “Starlett Scarlet” a lighter true red, and “Retro Rouge” a deep brown/red. Retail price per lipstick is $18.
The stars of this collection are the three MAC Studio Nail Lacquers with a cream finish and a bottle the shape of a sharp stiletto. The photo above shows off a red-orange shade named “To Have Or Have Not”. In fact, this color leans so orange it could even be classified as a vivid dark coral. This shade is really ideal for Spring and Summer, and would look killer with a tan. As always I need to reiterate that MAC Studio Nail Lacquer is quite incredible. Its streak free application and long wearing formula places it safely in the category of the very best nail polish available on the market.
The shade of nail lacquer above is a deep berry red named “Old-Fashioned”. This classic shade is seasonless, so if you’re looking for a color from the collection to wear all year long this should be your pick. Also available but not pictured is the shade “Good Old Days” a pure white. White manicures are a hot trend for 2016! Retail price is $13 per bottle.
I’m a big fan of the Lipmix product, and the color shown above is simply “Red“. This lip color is housed in a tiny tube, and best applied with a lip brush. The color is so intense, only a tiny bit of product delivers amazing results! What stands out most about Lipmix isn’t the color, but the incredible texture. This shade also happens to match the “To Have Or Nave Not” nail lacquer really well! Not shown is the shade “Crimson”, a dark blackened red. Retail price is $16 per tube.
