NARS launched their new Satin Lip Pencil lineup back in March, and I was thrilled to receive some samples from the brand. I’m a long-time fan of NARS Lip Pencils and have loved Velvet Matte Lip Pencils for eons, or so it seems.

These chunky lip pencils are the same controllable format that I know and love. Each thick pencil delivers color and texture similar to lipstick, but with the precision application of a lip pencil.
The finish is a creamy, dreamy opaque color that is so bold you won’t need a primer! On the lips, they have an emollient feeling… but aren’t too slick or oily. Color stays put. I love that I haven’t experienced any bleeding while wearing these pencils, as it makes me more likely to wear darker shades like Goldshan.
The finish of NARS Satin Lip Pencil isn’t glossy, but when the light hits them (see photo above) they have a beautiful luster.
