I became a fan of NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer the moment I first applied it, and have purchased it over and over again in the four years it has been available. For those of you who also love that product–but crave a modern matte finish–you’ll be happy to hear that the new NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint fills that void! Similar to the original tinted moisturizer, this new NARS foundation provides medium streak-free coverage that perfects the complexion while still looking natural.
NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint, Alaska Swatch
My shade of choice is Alaska, a warm-hued shade for fair to medium skin tones. The yellowish tone of the makeup helps to cancel out the redness of my cheeks, a quality I love! The swatches above show NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint in Alaska when first applied, and then after being blended. As you can see, this product leaves that perfect, age-forgiving eggshell finish. This makeup softens the complexion, and doesn’t settle into fine lines. You can absolutely apply this SPF formula with your fingers, but use a foundation brush to really make it sing.
Retail price is $44 per tube. Available in 12 shades.
