MAC Chill Collection
Baby, it's cold outside!
While Spring makeup collections have begun to bloom like flowers in an Arctic wasteland, the harsh reality is we still have TWO MORE MONTHS of Winter! Oh, March 20th, come quickly!
But as my East Coast family dutifully reports the bitterly low temperatures they are experiencing, my thoughts turn to MAC's limited edition collection, "Chill".
Itching to achieve the quintessential ice-princess look? Chill is the answer! Frost abounds in this collection, with shimmering opalescent whites, like Vellum Eye Shadow… to ashy browns tempered with grey, like Apres-ski Eye Shadow.
Perhaps it's predictable that I would gravitate to Tinted Lipglass shades like Icescape (an opalescent hue), and Frozen Dream (a barely there lavender/pink shade). Especially after my extremely positive experience with the ultra-pale Sugarrimmed Dazzleglass back in November. Less predictable is my love for Glitter! Reflects Antique Gold (a sparkling taupe) can be used as a stand-alone product to add sparkle anywhere, but I love to combine it with foundation or cream shadows for just a bit of shimmer. You can even use it in your hair!
MAC Glitter retails for $17.50. MAC Tinted Lipglass retails for $14. MAC Eye Shadow retails for $14.50.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil
How can it be that these pencils were introduced this Fall by Urban Decay, and I have yet to write about them!?!? Slacker extreme! Truthfully? Finally I feel truly, absolutely, positively ready to re-embrace lipstick. When painting an opaque mouth, you need more than just a lipstick. Hand-in-hand with that is stocking up on lip pencils!
Urban Decay's launched 22 new lipstick shades this past Fall, and I've raved about them endlessly… They were accompanied by 6 shades of 24/7 lip pencils, to help define lips and keep lipstick in place. Here's the thing.. the only pencil I've used to keep lipstick in place is Ozone, the totally transparent shade. I've been using the other shades of these super-moisturizing pencils as stand-alone lip color. They are as amazingly emollient, and have real staying power!
Now I've mentioned this already, but I'll say it again: be sure to check out the Grind House sharpener, too. In the past, I have had horrible luck with sharpeners. Some leave my pencils feeling jagged, others constantly break off the tip of the pencil before I even get to use it. The cleverly named Grind House does no such thing. My pencils are sharpened back to looking like new in an instant, and the cover keeps garbage from getting all over your floor.
Grind House retail is $8.
