Al Fredo nail lacquer is a year ahead of its time, in this beauty blogger’s humble opinion. So, if you’re the type of person that prefers to be ahead of the trend, rather than on-trend, Al Fredo is the shade for you!
Al Fredo Swatch
MAC Al Fredo nail lacquer–from the Cook MAC nail lacquer collection for Spring 2012–is described as a bright acid green cream. When I applied the shade itself, I was quite surprised. The appearance to my eyes is actually more of a sheer bright yellow. The shade “solar yellow” was among the popular shades included in Pantone’s Spring 2012 palette, and it’s my expectation that a bright and cheery shade of yellow will likely rank as #1 on said list in the Spring of 2013.
My personal opinion of Al Fredo is that I would have preferred that the formula be more opaque. Two coats of this nail lacquer still looks sheer (see photo) and you’ll need at least three if you really want the shade to appear opaque and vivid.
MAC nail lacquer is free of DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde.
