By now, many of you might already know that Glossybox has launched here in the USA. Glossybox.com went live on May 11, 2012… For those of you not in the loop, Glossybox is a beauty sampling program. You can pay $21 per month and receive a box filled with deluxe sample sized of the latest and greatest beauty products. Some bloggers (like yours truly) were sent preview boxes to write about. I LOVED my preview box, but didn’t immediately write about it. My main concern was that they put their best foot forward for bloggers, but wouldn’t be quite as generous to consumers.
The Glossybox Beauty Sampling Program
To a degree, this concern was true. I received full-sized product, while the Glossybox guarantee is only that customers will receive travel-sized products. However, now that the first REAL Glossybox has shipped, I can definitively say that this is a beauty sampling service worth checking out.
One of the things I loved about the assortment of product included in the Glossybox, was the diversity. The box contained items for lips, nails, eyes, face and body. Other sampling programs I’ve tested out in the past haven’t been quite so thoughtful about the selection. Box 1 of the “real” sampling program contained items for hair, nails, lips, face and teeth (plus a Glossybox branded cosmetic brush. FOUR of the products included in that first box were indeed full size. Quite the bargain!
Above: A photo of the blogger Glossybox, to announce the arrival of this beauty sampling program here in the USA. I have to point out that the packaging is truly sublime. Glossybox arrived in a black cardboard box adorned with a pink crown insignia, and inside was an absolutely reusable pink paper box with no branding on it whatsoever. The pink box was carefully filled with black streamers to protect the precious product. Receiving Glossybox was much like receiving a special gift. Skip one latte a week, and you can treat yourself to this little present once a month instead!
Another perk? This is a global program, so inside of my Glossybox was a gloss that you currently can’t even buy here in the USA! Overall, at only $21, this program is an inexpensive way to have some monthly makeup and beauty fun. Even I have signed up to be notified of when the company curates its next box!
