Founded by a stylish Italian Princess, this brand has been around for around 60 years! The brand recently launched some modern paletettes with a packaging facelift, and let me tell you it’s time to revisit this regal, royal brand. I was simply wowed by the Eclissare shadow palettes Borghese passed along for me to test. The Borghese formula feels like silk during application, and applies a high-pigment even color. The packaging is a classic, simple black quilted design that’s easy on the eyes.

Above are the lighter shades from the Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse palette. For daytime looks I generally stick to this end of the palette. Bask, Afterglow, and Pulse have a frosty finish. Vail and Ascend are more demi-matte. Muse has a metallic sheen to it. I’m really into peaches and pinks for Spring, so I’m delighted to have two solid color choices in that area with Afterglow and Pulse. Bask is a terrific highlight for the brow bone or inner corner of the eye. Muse is a fabulous accent shade or liner.

The darker end of the palette is all about drama! Can you even believe the intensity these shadows deliver? The swatches above are NOT applied over a primer, and NOT applied wet! This is just how color-rich they are, right out of the box! Borghese provides three earthy neutrals and three cool-hued neutrals, giving the consumer endless combinations of neutral to play with. Immortal, the deep black shade at the end, is also laced with glitter.
