Time to actually get to work on implementing those New Year’s resolutions, readers! If you’re resolved to take better care of your tresses, here are some tips from Amanda Jenkins, Master Stylist at ARROJO NYC:
· When it comes to hair color application, don’t cut corners. When in doubt, leave it to a professional.
· Don’t pick at split ends. Instead, get regular trims every 6 to 8 weeks.
· Don’t take your stress out on your hair. Tightly twisting it causes breakage.
· Deep condition once a week (bi-weekly if your hair is dry or curly, which makes it prone to dryness)
· Try to only use hot tools for a maximum of three times a week. Remember to give your hair a break and let it air dry when you can.
· Don’t shampoo everyday when you shower. Instead, just wet hair and condition or use a shower cap and apply dry shampoo afterwards to absorb odors and oils.
