Before you even ask, I’ll set your mind at ease. There are no “blades” involved with using the Wonderskin Wonder Blading Peel & Reveal Lip Stain Kit! In fact, the entire process may seem a bit intimidating but is actually amazingly easy. First step is to ensure you are applying the product on bare lips. The brand recommends that you exfoliate your lips a bit in the days leading up to your first use of this product, but unless you are having issues with chapped lips you may not need this step.

Regardless of which color you select, you will kick off the Wonder Blading Peel & Reveal Lip Stain application process by applying the lip masque. Regardless of the color you select to wear, the lip masque step will always looks like the swatch image at the far left above. Don’t be alarmed by this bold purple metallic shade! After the product sets, lightly mist the masque with the lip activator spray. Then the masque will peel off of your lips in a thin sheet, leaving a gorgeous stain behind! The color payoff can be as intense or subtle as you desire. Depending on how dark you want the final product to appear, you can leave the stain on from 10 seconds to as long at 45 seconds before removing. My personal opinion is for darker colors–like the Glamorous swatch in the center–you should leave the stain on a bit longer. For more neutral shades like XOXO, you can vary the length based on your personal preference.
One tip I have for application is to not apply the product too far back on the lip. It does apply unevenly to moister parts of the lip, so it’s best to smile with your lips gently closed and apply the product only to the visible parts of the lip. If you apply it on the moisture of the inner lip, that color will last longer and look like you’ve been eating a popsicle by the end of the day. Not a good look!
My absolute all-time favorite lipstick color is RED (of course) but quite honestly I assumed my red lip days were long over. Red lipstick fades fast, and some formulas bleed into fine lines and require way too much thought and work to make them work on aging skin. I hoped and hoped that this product was my solution, and it looks like it actually is! The center photo above is me wearing Glamorous. I topped the color with a clear lip balm for some moisture and shine and it looked absolutely amazing. The color absolutely stays put and passed what I fondly call the “Seattle coffee test” with flying colors. No color transfer to my favorite mug while sipping coffee!
Retail price is $29 for the Wonder Blading Peel & Reveal kit. If you are buying a second color, however, save some money and buy just a lip masque for $22! The activator spray is used minimally so chances are you don’t need one for each lip masque you own. This product is vegan, cruelty-free and gluten-free.
