The Physicians Formula staff certainly had a sense of humor when designing the tube in which to house their new gloss, Plump Potion Needle-Free Plumping Cocktail. The tube appears to be a large–almost caricature– syringe. But their intention is to drive home this point: this delectable gloss has super-plumping qualities, enabling a fuller pout, without expensive and painful injections!
I sampled this gloss in “Pink Potion”. I love the ice-princess look this shade imparts. Pink Potions pale shade is a marriage of 60s mod style and magic. This gloss retails for $8.95, be sure to check it out at Physicians Formula website, CVS, Walgreens or a drugstore near you.
A friend of mine once demonstrated how highlighting and lowlighting powders could be used to minimize her generously-proportioned nose. Darker powder on each side and highlighter on the bridge gave the illusion of a narrower and straighter nose, with none the wiser!
Benefit’s Cupid’s Bow works in the same way. This product is not about lip-color, it’s about shading and blending light and dark to give the illusion of a fuller pout, minus the irritating plumping agents. The highlighter should be applied directly between the peaks of the top lip-line, and blended with the provided brush. The darker shade should be applied in the center of the lower lip, and blended with the provided smudge-stick. Top off with a beige-mauve shade of lipstick or gloss and voila! Your lips appear fuller and utterly kissable. Bravo Benefit!
Don’t worry if this process seems intricate! Cupid’s Bow comes with a handy guide that illustrates exactly how to use this clever lip shaping set!
Cupid’s Bow retails for $28 at Benefit Cosmetics.
I loved painting with watercolors as a child, and found myself flashing back to those early artistic endeavors when I opened my new Bella Il Fiore lip palette. This long and lean palette contains five glosses packed with shimmer and smelling like a delicious box of chocolates. The Pinks, Berries & Neutrals palette contains a clear shimmery gloss, a peach-bronze shade, and three pink shades in varying intensity. This creamy gloss applies like a whipped frosting to the lips, and the brush contained in this palette is of great quality, so you’ll have everything you need for sexy lips in one case!
Bella Il Fiore’s Lip Treats Palette retails for $15 at the Bella Beauty website, or at Henri Bendel.

The second, Proenza Pink, for Proenza Schouler in Spring 2007, also sold out and was declared a collector’s item by The New York Times.
Retail price of this lipstick is $24. Hope you’re lucky enough to land yourself a P.S. Kiss!
