Just wanted to let you all know that Gloss.com has announced it will permanently shut down on June 30th. I don’t anticipate this will generate any beauty bargains, as each brand now has their own online store… but I’ll keep you posted.
Other and Misc.
Enough About Me…
I’m dying to read more about the product you’re all using, so I’m introducing a new feature: "Enough About Me…" where you’ll all be beauty bloggers too, and proudly tell the world what product you’ve used in the past 24 hours! Don’t be shy, and don’t worry about linking! Just enter your products of choice in any format you want.
Here’s a quick tutorial on how to use comments, so you can join in the fun: Below the dotted line underlining this post, you will see the word "Comments" in a smaller font. This is a hyperlink, so click on it. It will bring you to the comments interface. Below the words "Post a Comment" enter your name, email address and your comment in the empty boxes. That’s all you need to do! Once you’ve finished writing about your beauty regimen in the "Comments:" box, just hit the "Post" button and you’re all set!
I’ll kick us all off:
Cleansing– Juice Organics Nourishing Cleanser is what I’ve been cleansing with these days. I’ll be posting a review about it soon! Lotion Tendre is still my toner of choice. No added alcohol!
Makeup– Teint Naturel is the foundation I’ve used steadily for years upon years… But I’m planning to try Benefit "non fiction" in coming days.
My concealer for undereye and other delicate areas is Estompe de Chanel, but for covering blemishes and areas that frequently experience breakouts, I’ve been using Jane Iredale’s Disappear, written about in a previous post.
For eyes, I’m still favoring Chanel Le Crayon Yeux eyeliner, and I can’t live without my Blinc "Kiss Me" Mascara. Today’s eyeshadow of choice was actually blush! I used my Cargo BeachBlush on both my cheeks and my eyes!
Hair– Frederic Fekkai Reparative Shampoo and Reparative Conditioner (soon to be reviewed, this is FANTASTIC stuff).
Sunscreen– Korres Natural Products Sunscreen(again, a review will soon follow!)
Fragrance– I’ve still been using Valentino’s Rockin’ Rock ‘n Rose. I’ve grown quite attached to it!
Allure Readers’ Choice Awards
Am I the only person who noticed that Estee Lauder brands completely dominated the Winner’s Circle in the Allure Magazine Reader’s Choice Awards? The conspiracy theorist in me actually wondered if someone had figuratively "stuffed the ballot box", so complete was the Estee monopoly. M.A.C., Clinique and Aveda each won in multiple categories, while the Estee brand only won one category. If you haven’t read the article, don’t forget to buy the June issue of Allure. Allure is my own personal beauty bible.
But the Reader’s Choice Award Winners are not why I am writing. Allure asked their readers to mail their VERY USED product to be photographed for the article. I was shocked to see people had been toting around blush cases with broken chunks of blush. There are better options!
When a favorite blush or eyeshadow breaks, you don’t have to part with it. After all, there’s still plenty of product left. Rather than keep it in its original case and make a mess, a great option is to buy the Sephora Powder Jar with Sifter sold for only $4 at Sephora. You can place the broken powder-based product into the jar, break it up until it’s completely in powder form, and then continue to use it by tapping a little product at a time out into the lid. An even more inexpensive option for you Bare Escentuals users is to save the containers your product comes in. They are reusable!

Welcome To Travel Week!
Recently, my husband and I enjoyed our first overnight getaway since our son was born. Our 24 hour excursion was so relaxing, I felt like I had been on vacation for a week. The experience prompted me to dream of the fun family trips we can plan for the summer. Naturally, this train of thought also led me to think about all of the cool travel products I’ve seen and used lately. This week is dedicated to them! Enjoy!
