Lately, I have steered clear of sampling too many skincare products.  But when an opportunity presented itself for me to dip in to Bobbi Brown’s Brightening Gentle Cream Cleanser, I jumped at the chance.  This Winter has been exceptionally harsh on my dry, sensitive skin.  I’ve been trying everything to eliminate my dull, flaky and pasty complexion!

Bobbi’s Gentle Cream Cleanser is a godsend.  Naturally–based on my past history with the brand–I expected the formula to cleanse and exfoliate well, but the big surprise was how gentle the formula truly is!  It’s rich and think, almost with a mud-mask consistency.  Cleansing was thorough, and it did not irritate my sensitive skin in the least.  Most brightening formulas do!

Believe it or not, I don’t get to spend my entire day dabbling luxuriously in skincare product, and writing thoughtfully about it in a relaxed environment.  My days are frenetic, and I get only a precious few minutes each day for testing.  As a result, I have come to treasure the special products that deliver immediate results.

I’ve been really into using oils on my face this Winter.  Seattle’s perpetual “winter mix” precipitation is absolute murder on my dry skin.  Usually my hands are the only victims, but this Winter has forced me to look for some serious healing for my cheeks as well.

tarte’s Pure Maracuja Oil– a recently launched QVC exclusive–is an amazing elixir for this type of suffering.  The purple glass bottle equipped with a self-measuring dropper to apply the oil to the skin.  The oil feels soothing when applied, and has thus-far helped me to relieve my cheeks of their extreme dryness, and downgrade them to just “dry”.  I’ll take it!  A three-week consumer study shows that the oil improves the texture of the skin, helps to even skin tone and improves elasticity… among many other desirable qualities.  I have my fingers crossed!

Oh, Ole!  This Mom is so tired these days, and your Black Currant Complexion Oil is officially my favorite 10-second morning spa-retreat!

I’ve been using the oil daily, beneath my makeup application.  You’d expect that “oil” would just sit on top of the skin, looking greasy.  Ole Henriksen’s Black Currant Oil potion actually absorbs quickly into dry skin, and wears beautifully under makeup. 

I use it only on my super-dry cheeks for day-time use, but apply more liberally at night!
