There are so many winning palettes to pick from these days, but one of my top picks is the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette that contains 14 neutral shades in shimmer and matte finishes. It’s the ultimate modern palette!
The Double Exposure Palette is neutral with a twist. Dusky purples and silvery blues add a hint of subtle color to an otherwise completely neutral shadow palette. The twists don’t end there, however. Want to know why it’s named “Double” Exposure? Click through the jump to find out!

Smashbox Double Exposure Palette
The “double” duty this palette delivers is 28 colors and finishes in only 14 pans! Each shadow included in the Smashbox Double Exposure Palette is a wet/dry formula that not only changes the product intensity, but in some cases changes the finish of the product!
Above are the darker shades from the Smashbox Double Exposure Palette. The first photo shows the colors applied dry, the second photo shows them wet. What a huge difference, right? The colors below are so vivid and intense!
Swatches Left to right: Midnight, Temper, Haze, Noir, Copper, Fig, and Espresso. In most cases, the color simply gets deeper and more intense (almost to the point that you’d think it was an eye pencil), but in the case of Midnight and Temper the color actually turns into a sparkle effect when applied wet. Copper becomes a metallic! It’s simply too cool!
The two photos above show the paler shades included in the Smashbox Double Exposure Palette. Top swatches are dry, and bottom are wet. From left to right: Silver, Mauve, Peony, Blanc, Quartz, Flushed, and Veiled. These shades are a combination of Shimmer and Satin finishes when dry. Silver, Mauve, Peony, and Blanc become metallic when applied with a damp brush! Quartz, Flushed, and Veiled become more intense.
The palette also includes an application guideline, based on the eye shape that is so helpful! If you want other makeup application tips from Smashbox, be sure to visit Smashbox #Shapematters for tips and tricks!
As if you aren’t already won over, this Smashbox palette also comes with a deluxe travel-size Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara. I’m sure you’ve guessed by now, but I’m crazy about this palette!
