It has been 7 years since I last visited Hawaii. November 2001 was a surreal time to vacation, but our travel plans–made months before–were non-refundable. The world was still reeling from the events of 9/11, and reminders of that day were all around us. In fact, the hotel we stayed at in Waikiki was even eerily referred to as the "twin towers". The economy was in a shambles, and even designer boutiques in Honolulu had huge sales to liquidate inventory (but still, very few tourists shopped).
Luckily, our hotel was also a spa… and our room was fully stocked with the coolest bath and body products, all of which originated on the islands. The tropical scented skin indulgences were one of the few things that could actually take my mind off of the troubles of the world.
This Pineapple Lime Cane Sugar Scrub by Ola Hawaii takes me back to that trip. The delicious tropical scent gives the mind a mini-vacation from whatever troubles occupy it, while the course scrub makes history of callouses and rough skin. Elbows and knees are left soft and looking great. Made with cane sugar, this scrub won’t irritate any small cuts you might have from shaving. Ola’s Cane Sugar Scrub is also excellent prep for self-tanners or bronzing lotions.
Check out Ola Hawaii products on the Hawaiian Body Products website, where you can purchase this scrub for $22. I’m not surprised at all to read that many of the finest hotels in Hawaii are stocking these products to pamper their guests.
